I was born in 1969 and brought home to a little green house on top of Eddie Street. Now 40 years later I once again live in that little green house on the same street that has a different name. I'm married for the second time and hopefully the last time. I have three little balls of clay I call my daughters each one different from the other. I once thought that I haven't acomplished anything in my life because I didn't live in a big house or drive a fancy car, but I have accomplished a lot. I'm a teacher at Finlandia University and Gogebic Community College, molding yet more balls of clay.I have a monthly parenting column in the Daily Mining Gazette, I get to eat three or more times a day and I have some time to enjoy those around me. All in all life has been a snowball rolling down hill then up the other side and back again. I've come to realize that I don't know how to relax, how to take a vacation or how to do anything but work, and I'm ok with this. I like to set goals and then reach them. One goal I set was the Master's degree before age 40. My newest one deals with vacations. I've made a promise to myself that at the age of 40 I will start taking one week vacations, total vacations, no work at all. At 45 I'll add a week and at 50 and beyond three weeks total. I want to be around until I'm 100 so I need to start taking care of myself. Lastly I want happiness for those around me, is it possible, maybe, maybe not, well see.
